A Very Asprey Festive Season

No truly English table is complete without a festive cracker for each guest. Always partial to a show-stopping tablescape, friend of the house Max Hurd explains this entertaining tradition, reveals the luxurious Asprey cracker and demonstrates how to curate a perfectly elegant holiday table.

What's a cracker all about?

They are paper tubes containing a joke, a riddle, a present and a crown. Two people pull on either side of the cracker until it pops, and whoever ends up with the longer half gets to keep the present and wear the crown.

When are crackers opened?

Crackers are opened as soon as guests are seated at the table, before the meal begins. It can get quite competitive, especially if beautiful Asprey silver presents are involved!

What's your favourite way to style crackers?

Traditionally, they are placed at the top of each plate, but Asprey's are so beautiful, it's fun to place them all in an impactful centrepiece.
